Pan coated chewing gums and chewy sweets play a major role in sugar free confectionery products. In response to this, Sensient has additionally designed a comprehensive range of carmine based formulations for sugar free coatings. This range includes appealing colours in red, pink and purple shades.
For red colouring of low pH products like hard boiled sweets or jellies, the anthocyanin formulations from Sensient are the first choice. Extracts and concentrates based on berries and plants/vegetables are low in sugar and achieve attractive red to bluish colour hues. For interesting green colour hues, Sensient has developed chlorophyll based formulations and extracts from spinach or stinging nettle. As an alternative to caramel and burnt sugar Sensient provides a broad range of tailor made brown blends based on natural as well as synthetic colours.
